Adultification

Sefton SCP is delivering a 60 minute virtual briefing to provide some insight and awareness to support the children’s workforce in their understanding of the impact of Adultification on children and young people.  

What is Adultification? 

Adultification happens when professionals have preconceptions held about children which can lead to them being treated and perceived as being more adult like. The briefing will also share the recommendations from the highly publicised case of Child Q in Hackney.
