NEGLECT PRACTICE FORTNIGHT - Understanding the impact of cumulative harm when neglect is a concern inc. Mock ICPC

This interactive training session will explore how cumulative harm from neglect can be identified and addressed effectively within Child Protection Conferences. The morning will begin with a short presentation introducing Sefton’s strengths-based approach to Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPCs) and setting the scene for a mock ICPC focused on neglect.

Participants will observe a simulated ICPC using Sefton’s new strengths-based model, designed to promote meaningful engagement and collaborative decision-making. Throughout the session, there will be opportunities for reflection, questions, and discussion to deepen understanding of how neglect presents cumulatively and how professionals can take decisive action to reduce risk and secure timely support for children and families. The training aims to enhance confidence in recognising cumulative neglect and applying restorative principles to achieve better outcomes in child protection conferences.
